Myctophidae

The fish lanterns (or myctophides , of the Greek mykter , " nez" and ophis , " serpent") are the fish of the family of the alive Myctophidae in the aphotic Zone of the oceans. They are called thus because of their remarkable aptitude for the Bioluminescence. The fish lanterns account for alone 90% of the biomass abyssal depths .
