The Gros-bec with white wings ( Mycerobas carnipes ) is a Asian Fringillidé.

Description

The Grosbeak with white wings measures between 22 and 23,5 cm.

It presents a sexual dimorphism.

The male is entirely black except for tail, of the belly and under-caudal the greenish yellow. The base of the primary rémiges white is at the origin of the specific name of this bird. The secondary covers and the tertiary rémiges are marked of a greenish yellow edging, broader on the tertiary sectors. The thick and conical nozzle presents a brownish coloring with the lower mandible blanchâtre. The eyes are brown and the legs brown clearly.

The female is duller. Its tail is yellow greenish and its washed yellow belly of green gray

The young people resemble the female, with also greenish yellow tail, but are darker. Slightly striated, the lower parts are beige ashy.
