My season preferred is a film French of Andre Techine, left in 1993.
Synopsis
Only and cardiac, Berthe is resigned to come to live in his/her Emilie daughter and her Bruno son-in-law. Emilie invites her Antoine brother, whom she seldom sees with the midnight supper of Christmas. The dinner degenerates into argument, Bruno and Antoine clashes violently; Berthe decides to turn over to it. Emilie then leaves husband and children and cabin at Antoine who lavishes his affection to him. Following a new attack, Berthe is placed by his/her children in private hospital. Antoine, doctor, know his condemned mother; Emilie and it are reproached for not having made enough for it.Odd and independent, Antoine loves his Emilie sister. Exclusive, this love causes, seemingly, no ambiguity: their reports/ratios remain fraternal even if, to see it its glance irradiates tenderness. And so sometimes they intertwine, as after the death of their mother, it is to seek in the pressure of the other the force not to yield to despair. The wise Emilie loves her young brother of which she envies the frankness and freedom. But she fears that chastity is only one stage of their love, the last before the inceste. To entreat this fate, it is given to an unknown, thus believing to dig an abyss between it and its brother.

Comments
The film describes fusional passion between a brother and a sister. One of most beautiful films, most essential of Andre Techine (through humanity approached), in the same vein as wild Reeds , approaching the human relationship between sharp sectional views, the wounds of the bonds tightened too extremely with decency and simplicity. But if it remains in appearances far from the flights of Barocco and of Rendez-vous in its scenario, Téchiné approaches essence subtly: the difficulty of affirming and of freeing themselves as of his, and of demolishing feelings which bind us to them, while at the same time these feelings thicken and become more painful with the time which passes. And finally death: it chronic this simple death of a woman who dedicated her life to her children to propel their social rise. A death that modernity and the money cannot make move back. It is necessary to greet the service of Catherine Deneuve in one of its most touching roles, of most vulnerable.
