My Rainey
Gertrude “My” Rainey (Gertrude Malissa Nix Pridgett, Mrs Rainey) is a American Chanteuse of Blues born with Colombus in Georgia the April 26th 1886 and died in Memphis, Tennessee the December 22nd 1939.
Biography
One of its most famous compositions is See See Rider Blues , which it records in 1924 and which will be taken again by many artists, becoming a standard of the blues and Rock “roll.
The singer Francis Cabrel quotes My Rainey like one of his musical references in the song " Hundred Years of Plus" on the album " Out-Saison" (1999).
