History

Principal dates

  • In 1969, part of the members within the grouping E.Leclerc, follows Jean-Pierre then Roch in dissension with Edouard Leclerc to form a new sign the Ex .

  • In 1972, new grouping structure in the form of a public limit company ITM Undertaken which is owner of the very new sign Intermarché which will replace the sign the Ex during the year 1973. The capital of the company ITM Undertaken is held by the civil society of the Musketeers (SCM) which represents the Mousquetaires of the distribution i.e. the first members. The group will take consequently the name of the Mousquetaires .

The German adventure (Spar)

In June 1997, the Commission of the European Communities delivers an positive opinion to the bringing together of the Musketeers and Spar (Germany). The concentration takes place by the project of TIWI GMBH ( TIWI ), controlled by the company Intercontessa AG (Intercontesa) it even controlled by ITM Undertaken , to acquire German company SPAR Handels AG.
Spar Handels AG (SPAR) is the principal licensee SPAR in Germany and is specialized in the distribution of food products and nonfood. This company is owner of several signs of which SPAR, Netto and Kodi. The activity of detail is carried out for a part by sales outlets under sign SPAR pertaining and managed directly by the company and for another by independent retailers franknesses. SPAR carries on an activity of Wholesale and delivers foreign sales outlets to the group. They however preserved of this " périple" the sign Netto which replaced CDM (Counters of the Goods).
