Music Player Demon (MPD) is a audio Lecteur free which gives distant access since another computer. An example would be a waiter making turn MPD and using one of its frontal customers to control it remotely. It is also a good audio reader for the office, especially if you do not use or often start again X.
It uses a Database (like the other music players) to store basic information of each file. With the difference of some other readers audios (like XMMS2 for example, who uses SQLite) the format of the database is simple a Textual file, arranged alphabetically site and of file name. This can make research less effective, nevertheless the size of the database is generally too small to distinguish a difference.
