Museum of the railwayman

The museum of the railwayman of Ambérieu-in-Bugey present on 1000 m ² a retrospective of the living and working conditions of the Railwayman S in a city whose development is related to the history of the Railroad.

Created in 1987 following the meeting of several impassioned local history, it is installed since 1988 in a municipal building.

One finds there exposed in faithful reconstitutions all the objects and places which made the daily newspaper of the railwaymen, such as for example: driving cabin of a Locomotive with vapor, desks of electric control of Locomotive S, Signal box, office of chief of Station of the years 1950, refectory, dormitory, doctor's office…
