Museum of the insular inheritance of Kerkennah
The Musée of the insular inheritance of Kerkennah is a private Musée located in the village of El Abbassia in the Archipel of the Kerkennah in Tunisia.
It is placed under the aegis of the Cercina Center for research on the Mediterranean islands directed by the Tunisian academic Abdelhamid Fehri who accommodated the museum in a whole of renovated traditional habitat: Dar Fehri.
The museum proposes to emphasize:
- traditional activities of the archipelago related to a artisanal economy primarily turned towards the fishing
- of the artisanal products using the Esparto and the palm tree
- of the historical figures having known the island like Hannibal Barca, Habib Bourguiba or Farhat Hached
Moreover, workshops are organized to revivify ancestral activities such as the Broderie. A commercial space allows the purchase of Livre S and CD-ROMs relating to Kerkennah.
