The largest museum of the German Hélicoptère is located in the town of Bückeburg whose castle shelters an important collection of apparatuses.
Inspired by his formation achieved in the United States, the pilot of helicopter Werner Noltemeyer started since 1957 to gather all that had milked with the technique of the vertical flight. The collections were exposed until 1970 in a barracks and were accessible only to the soldiers and rare guests. During the removal in the castle “Burgmannshof” was created the association of the friends of the museum ( Förderverein Hubschrauberzentrum E. V. ) in responsibility of manage the collections and to place them at the disposal of the public. In 1980 a large hall of exposure was built.
