Buildings
Located between the monumental fountain of Neptune and the entry of the street Stanislas, the building of the Museum of the Art schools of Nancy east built in the majestic style of the Place Stanislas, masterpiece classified with the world heritage of UNESCO.Behind this building was located the Theater of the Comedy of Stanislas Leszczyński, built in 1758 and unfortunately disappeared in 1906 (theater which was replaced in 1919 by the Opera-Theater of Nancy, vis-a-vis the museum of the Art schools). The space left by the theater of the comedy allowed a first extension of the Museum in 1936.
One second extension carried out in 1995 by Laurent Beaudoin made it possible as for it to have resolutely modern buildings and to double the surface of the museum. The basement of this extension proposes an exposure of a hundred parts of crystal manufacture Daum integrated into the heart of the fortifications of the city of the 15th century.
