Museum of the Albanian

The museum of the Albanian , rested by the Friends of the Rumilly old man and the Albanian, has as a subject the history, the Archéologie, the decorative Arts, the technique and industry. It is especially specialized on the Généalogie of the princes of Savoy and on the history of Savoy until the French annexation of 1860. It also present the history of the town of Rumilly and more generally of the area of the Albanian.

History

This museum was constituted, at the beginning, primarily around the private collections of the founder Louis Buttin. This impassioned meticulous art and collector, succeeded in constituting with the son of the years a very beautiful whole of weapons, of portrait, old documents, genealogical testimonys of the Princes de Savoie.

Thereafter, graces to many gifts of private individuals and professionals, the museum of the Albanian could grow rich by many potteries, of various and varied tools, plane and finally of photographs of historical interests.

Structure

During July 1991, the museum was established in the old manufacture of the tobaccos. This buildings was entirely rehabilitated in order to reception at the ground floor of the southern wing the museum. The building was built about 1865 the shortly after the fastening of Savoy in France.
