The Musée of Prado ( Museo del Prado , prado meaning pre ) to Madrid (Spain) presents and shelters one of the most beautiful collections, especially of European paintings of the 14th century at the beginning of 19th. It is one of the most important museums of the world.

Works of the painters Diego Vélasquez, Francisco Goya, and Jerome Bosch are most famous and most but there are also those of the Greco, of Pierre Paul Rubens, Raphaël, Titien, Bartolomé Esteban Murillo as well as tables of Botticelli, Caravaggio, Albrecht Dürer, Andrea Mantegna, Rembrandt and Paul Véronèse.

Stories

The principal building was built under the reign of Charles III by the architect Juan de Villanueva. It was used like general headquarter of the cavalry and reserve of powder during the occupation of the troops as Napoleon Bonaparte. The museum was nationalized in 1868. Nearby buildings were built-in starting from 1918.
