Museum of Ansembourg
The Musée of Ansembourg is the Museum of Archéologie and decorative Art of the town of Liege.
In 1738, the banker Michel Willems made shave the old property concerned with the Collégiale St. Bartholomew's Day Massacre to set up his private mansion there.
His/her son dying without posterity, his goods was yielded to his niece Marie-Anne-Victoire de Hayme de Bomal, marries of the count Joseph-Romain Walking of Ansembourg, nephews of the Prince-Bishop François-Charles de Velbruck. For this time the hotel has kept the name of Ansembourg.
Degraded following the Revolution inhabitant of Li2ege in 1794, the building was seized before being resold with another family.
In March 1903, the town of Liege acquired the building which she entrusted to the architect Joseph Lousberg to transform it into of museum of decorative arts inhabitant of Li2ege of the 18th century. The opening to the public was carried out since 1905.
The Museum of Ansembourg is today classified “major Inheritance of Wallonia”
