The House
Built in 1928, the house of the banker patron David van Buuren presents a typical architecture external of the School of Amsterdam, whereas interior decoration constitutes a unit single Art Déco arranged by Belgian interior designers, French and Dutch. The couple van Buuren had made its villa a “academy alive”, where movable rare, carpets, stained glasses, sculptures and international masterpieces remained in their place, in the intimacy of a “house of deprived memory”, become museum in 1975 by testamentary will of Alice van Buuren.
The Garden
Since their initial state of 26 ares, in 1924, the gardens extend on 1,5 ha.
