Muscle femoral quadriceps

The quadriceps is the bulkiest muscle of the human body. It is him which supports our weight and allows us to move. It is located in the thigh. Its name comes from its special characteristic which is that it is composed of four muscular bellies (four beams).
Description
High insertions
- right Muscle of the thigh: side face of the iliaque wing and former face of the great trochanter
- side vast Muscle: postéro-side edge of the vast Femur
- Muscle médial: edge postéro-médial of the intermediate Femur
- vast Muscle: former face of the Femur
Low insertions
- Muscle femoral right: the patellar tendon to the former face of the tibia
- side vast Muscle follows: higher face of patella
- vast Muscle médial: higher face of patella
- intermediate vast Muscle: higher face of patella
The patellar tendon finishes the insertion of the quadriceps on the former face of the tibiaux plates and this via the patella which is used as pulley in the trochlée femoral one.

- Flexor of the thigh on the basin by the femoral right
- and Extenseur of the leg on the thigh in open chain
