Muscatel of Alsace

The Muscat of Alsace is distinguished from the Cépage S of Muscat S soft Southerners by his dry and fruity character which gives the feeling to crunch fresh grapes. It constitutes a marvellous aperitif and accompanies perfectly the Asperge S.

In fact, one should say the Muscatels because there are two varieties: the white Muscatel ottonel and the pink Muscatel with small grains (also called pink Muscatel of Alsace), of late maturity. The two Muscatels are often vinified together. They are produced on approximately 350 hectares and accounts for 3% of the aggregate output of the wines of Alsace.
