Muscari with cheeck
The muscari with cheeck ( Muscari comosum (L.) Millet.) is a Plante Bulbe uses of the family of the Asparagacée S according to the phylogenetic Classification (previously classified among the Liliacée S then in the Hyacinthacée S according to the traditional Classification). It is cultivated like plants decorative.

Description
It is a long-lived species thanks to its bulb, which reaches from 30 to 60 cm in height and which flowers in spring, between April and July. the bulb of color drawing on the russet-red one with the size from a nut.The sheets, from 10 to 15 cm from length and 6 to 12 mm broad, have a linear form, and are narrowed at the ends. They all are joined together at the base of the plant, more or less spread out. The flowers, without odor, have a form of grelot of color violet, ovoid more or less tubulous, finished by 6 very short teeth. the petals are entirely welded. The ovary is divided into three cabins. The flowers are joined together in long a rather loose Grappe. That the top, with longer and rectified stalk, do not produce fruit. the fruits are capsules opening by three a little round triangular valves.
Distribution
Europe central and southernmost, Asia of south-west (Cyprus, Turkey, Iran, Israel, Lebanon…), North Africa.The plant is common in France at the wild state, rarer in Belgium.
Use
Plant cultivated in the gardens for the ornament. Plants itself in general masses some to make more effect. Naturalizes itself very well in the lawns (spontaneous reproduction by sowing). Plant rather rustic which remains in place the winter.A variety called plumosum or monstruosum is cultivated under the name of feathery muscari or hyacinth of His. It presents a very feathery Inflorescence made of fallen through flowers crimsons.
The bulb would be edible.
