Murphy (Romance)
First novel of Samuel Beckett, translated into French in 1951.
-
the character éponyme is male nurse in a psychiatric asylum.
-
an interesting part of the book is very particular part of failures: the adversaries are never face to face (the patient playing with Murphy does not come in the room where is the play only when Murphy left there to carry out its round), and the played blows, which repectent certainly the rules, are completely eccentric.
La part is reconstituted entirely while following conventions of notation in force in this field, including with the explanatory notes at the end of the part. It is difficult not to smile by reconstituting it on a chess-board.
Le name of the character can take as a starting point besides a famous player of the XIXème century, Morphy.
