Murakami (村上市; - shi) is a city of the Japan located in the Préfecture of Niigata.
In 2003, the city had a population of 31.109 inhabitants, one population density of 218,89 hab/km ² and a surface of 142,12 km ².
The city was founded the March 31st 1954.
Murakami is twinned with the town of Sabae since May 1981.
Murakami is served by the trunk roads: 7,290 and 345.
