Munster Rugby

Munster Rugby , officially the Irish Rugby Football Union Munster Branch , and one of the four branches of the Irish Rugby Football Union, east is charged with the Rugby to XV in the Irish Province of the Munster. The branch is also responsible for the provincial team of Munster, which takes part in the Celtic League and the cut of Europe of Rugby (see the Organization of Irish Rugby). It was founded in 1879.
Munster plays the essence of its matches with Thomond Park with Limerick. They dispute also certain meetings with Musgrave Park with Cork. The public of Thomond Park is recognized for his enthusiasm, and his silence during the unfavourable kicks with the goal, and the spirit of Munster best is undoubtedly summarized by this local sentence: We do not make this type of things.
The team of Munster is made up starting from players of the local clubs like Shannon RFC, Cork Constitution, Garryowen and Young Munster. These clubs dispute the All Ireland League, the championship of Irish clubs.
The three crowns used as emblem by Munster were a symbol running in all Europe Médiévale. They are in bond with the three Magi of the Gospel of St Mathieu in the New Testament, and were a symbol of the sovereignty of the England on the Ireland before being replaced during the reign of Henry VIII. In 2003 a head of stag was added to the emblem. The stags belong to the folklore of the Munster since the 11th century.
Munster against the AlBlacks
Munster is the only Irish team to have ever beaten the New Zealand. Victory over the score of 12-0 take place the October 31st 1978 with Thomond Park. Christy Cantillon registered a test transformed by Tony Ward. Ward added a drop goal in each half-time.
The match was immortalisé in a play of John Breen, Alone It Stands , and in a book of Alan English, Stand up and fight: when happy Munster the All Blacks . Although regarded by some as exaggerated, two works proved to be business successes.
Munster also made tie with the All Blacks in 1973.
Recent history - Heineken Cup
Until May 20th, 2006, Munster often had the best team never not to have gained Heineken cup . The men in red had indeed since the beginning of the competition reaches three times the semi-finals, and twice the final, where they failed each time. In 2006, they again reach the final for the third time, meeting the Olympic Biarritz the May 20th with Cardiff and are essential 23-19.
