Munshausen
Munshausen ( Munzen in Luxembourg) is a common the North-East of the Grand-Duché of Luxembourg. It belongs to the canton of Clervaux in the district of Diekirch. The communes bordering are Hosingen in the south, Kiischpelt and Eschweiler in south-west, Clervaux in the North-West and Heinerscheid in north. In the east, the Our form the border with the Germany.

- Drauffelt ( Draufelt ) (169 inhabitants)
- Munshausen ( Munzen ) (172 inhabitants)
- Siebenaler ( Siwwenaler ) (51 inhabitants)
- To grind ( Ruedder ) (61 inhabitants)
At August 10th, 2007, the population rose with 1.034 people. The surface of the commune of Munshausen is of 25,57 km ². It belongs to Éislék (Ösling), the Luxembourg part of the Ardenne S. Of the released plates, at an average altitude of 500m, intersected with narrow valleys constitute the main part of the landscapes of the area. It is a commune with the typically rural character like the major part of the north of the country.
Munshausen is a very old village which was mentioned for the first time into 839 under the name of " Muniheistati in Arduenna". Other names were in 1404 Monshusen, 1417 Moinshuis, 1419 Muynshusen, 1527 Muentzhusen, 1598 Muntzhausen.
Its church dedicated to holy Hubert of which the oldest parts date from XIIIe century, was the parish church several neighbouring localities, inter alia Clervaux, the current chief town of the canton. Several family members of the counts de Clervaux rest consequently in an adjacent vault with the church of Munshausen.
The village is also known for its annual market whose origins go back to the Moyen-âge, “Munzer Haupeschmaart”, which is held first Sunday after the festival of saint Hubert (November 3rd).
Fusion of communes
The commune of Munshausen is for a certain time in talks with the communes of Clervaux and Heinerscheid for the fusion of these three communes. Initially, the population will have to be consulted by way of Référendum in the month of October 2007. The fusion of the communes is planned for on January 1st, 2012.
