Municipality of Ikast-Brande

The municipality of Ikast became on January 1st 2007, the municipality Ikast-Brande covering 768 km ² for a population of 39.681 (2007) in the '' amt '' of Ringkjøbing belonging to the area of the Jutland-Exchange in the peninsula of the Jutland to the Denmark par.

History

The municipality of Ikast had been created in 1970 following the kommunalreform which gathered 4 parishes then:
  • Bording
  • Engesvang
  • Ikast
  • Isenvad
The new Danish reform of the municipalities ( Kommunalreformen ) amalgamated into 2007 the municipalities of Brande and Nørre-Snede to create that of Ikast-Brande.
