Municipality of El Hatillo

The municipality of El Hatillo (Spanish: Municipio El Hatillo ) is a administrative division of the State de Miranda, with the Venezuela; it constitutes with Baruta, Chacao, Libertador and Sucre one of the five Municipalité S of Caracas, the Capitale of Venezuela. It is located at south-east of Caracas and in the north-western part of the State de Miranda.

The Siège of the municipality is located at El Hatillo, a city founded in 1784 per Don Baltasar de León. Whereas the origins of the city go back to the era of the Spanish colonial period, the municipality of was established that in 1991. In 2000, year of the adoption of a new constitution in Venezuela, certain powers of the municipality were delegated to a higher municipal authority of the name of Alcaldía Mayor , which has certain capacities on the four other municipalities of Caracas.

El Hatillo preserved its colonial architectural heritage, of which in particular a Paroisse of the 18th century and a Rumanian orthodoxe church. El Hatillo has moreover a cultural life and artistic important, with each years two festivals of musics and many other annual traditional festivals reflecting the heritage of El Hatillo. Its culture, its favorable climate, its rural landscape and its Gastronomie do of them one of the most snuffed tourist sites most important and area of Caracas. A big part of the incomes which the municipality perceives are generated by the linked activities with tourism, tourism strongly encouraged by the government.

Even if the zones of trade quickly developed, the Agriculture remains a pillar of the economic activity of the rural areas of the south of El Hatillo. The tertiary sector under being developed in this area, the daily movement of the population working in this sector involves true problems of congestion in transport of Caracas.

Economy

The economic activity of El Hatillo is divided into three sectors: the Trade, whose activity proportionally developed increase in the population of El Hatillo, mainly represented by its shopping malls and its stores located in urban area; the Agriculture, of the southern half of the municipality, whose activity goes up in the beginnings even area; the Tourism, which constitutes a considerable financial source for the municipality, and which is strongly encouraged by this one.
