Multiface

It is under the impulse of the king of Deux-Siciles, Ferdinand II, which is born the first railroad in the Italic peninsula.

The line Naples - Portici is inaugurated the October 3rd 1839 by the king:

Always under the impulse of Ferdinand II of Bourbon-Siciles, the industrialization of the kingdom had a sharp rise:

  • construction of railways,
  • construction of engines with Pietrarsa,
  • iron and steel industry in Calabria providing the raw materials to the construction of the railroads,
  • shipyards,
  • etc

In 1847, the Royaume of Piedmont-Sardinia buys seven engines with the Royaume of Deux-Siciles: Pietrarsa, Corsi, Robertson, Vesuvio, Maria Teresa, Etna and Partenope . ----
