Mulcent

Mulcent is a common French, located in the department of the Yvelines and the area Île-de-France.

The name of “Mulcent” would derive from Latin murocinctus , i.e. “girds walls”.

Its inhabitants is called Mulcentois.

Geography

The territory of the commune of Mulcent extends on the agricultural plate from the Mantois not far from Septeuil. The relief is marked little, altitude generally varying between 110 and 120 meters. Urban space is very limited (2% of the total), the major part of the territory is devoted to agriculture. the wooded part accounts for approximately 10% of the total, divided into several very dispersed pieces.

The borough consists of individual dwellings gathered around a large farm. The commune does not have a school.

The communes bordering are Montchauvet in the North-West, Civry-the-Forest in south-west, Orvilliers and Prunay-the-Temple in the south, Septeuil in the east and Courgent in north.

The communications are ensured by the secondary road RD 983 which connect Mantes-the-Pretty to Houdan, and by the local roadway system which connects the commune to its neighbors.
