Mujāhid Al `Āmirī

Mugehid bin abd Allah Al-ʿĀmirī Al-Muwafaqq (rear RTL مجاهدبنعبداللهالعامريالموفق) (Denied? , 989 - Hippone, 1044) also called Mugìâhid or Muyahid , is a adventurous emir, or Pirate, buckwheat, Moyen-âge. It is known in Italy under the name of Museto (or Mugetto ) quickly to have brought by the sea of the destruction on the Italian Péninsule and in Sardinia. In fact its history is a mixture of Légende S negative, and facts historical, which emphasize certain contradictions of dates.

In Sardinia

It is in 1015 that the emir, bench with the Balearic Islands, prepares the attack towards Sardinia, with “a fleet of 125 ships transporting 1.000 horses to try to conquer Sardinia”.

The inhabitants of Sardinia could not imagine that an attack of the kind could arrive to them. But buckwheat organizes forwarding very quickly, and in the greatest secrecy.

Musetto probably unloads on the territory of the judicat of Logudoro (close to current the Oporto Torres), in Western northern Sardinia, i.e. in part of the island seldom attacked, and it thus does not have any difficulty in plunder the seaboard town.

A heroic attempt at resistance is organized by judge Malotto (Malut), who makes gather on the beach all the valid men by putting at the head his troops. This act is actually a serious error, since the Judge, as well as the majority of his administrators, are killed in the Bataille. Thus, all the organization of the judicat is upset and the population thus remains private skilful men to organize resistance and the rebuilding.

The judicat of Torres (Logudoro) becomes, in one night, the new reign of Musetto , which gives to this territory an immediate organization with an aim of initially conquering the island and then the Italian continent.

Towards Pisa

The attack with Torres, is undoubtedly not improvised, because it is started while Pisa has most of its fleet in Calabria, for a mission of reprisals against of other buckwheats.

After having gathered its troops, Musetto thus turns quickly to Pisa, which was since the beginning its probable true objective. Thus Musetto , which probably has an intelligence service (this assumption would be confirmed by its convenient interventions), attacks Pisa where the massacre is then wild. Only the valid women are saved, but to only be sold on the walked to the slaves. This sale would have financed in a very important way the fleet sarrasine. Whole districts of the Tuscan city are ignited, and before the Bateau X pisans turn over of their incursion to Calabria, Musetto had already set out again with Olbia with its captive.

One so does not know a judicat of Logudoro his troops moved meanwhile in Olbia. In any event, shortly after buckwheats controlled all the territory ranging between the two septentrional Sardinian ports. Surely the archipelago of Maddalena was already between the hands Arab S, as well as the Corsica southernmost.

However, the Mediterranean adventure of Musetto hardly starts.

Pisa in hunting

Pisans then have a foreseeable reaction by continuing Muscetto immediately (thus called by Tuscan). It is Admiral Vittore Ricucchi (or Ricucci) which controls the operations, and unloads in Sainte Lucia de Siniscola (or more probably, in Portus Luguidonis of current San Giovanni of Posada) to be combined with the Sardinians, which organize already their resistance.

Thus, Sardinians and Pisans, by the sea like by the ground, go together towards Olbia. But Musetto , certainly informed by its effective service of information, is folded up quickly and silently in west, towards the Limbara, in direction of Tempio Pausania, for then joining Torres. Thus protected in its new strengthened general headquarter (where it had gathered large its ships), buckwheat worries Pisans, which again left their city without defense. Thus Pisans would have left the Sardinians only (and thus less dangerous) vis-a-vis the invader.

Thus less threatened, the Pirate S Arab set up a network of maritime patrols to found a blockade of water between Sardinia and Corsica.

A little later the activity pirates moves towards the Tyrrhenian Sea, where they started to plunder the boats of the génois and the pisans.

The latter did not have only their economy suspends some, but also a desire of revenge.
