History
Long realistic account founded on a real fact various, the history begins with the account from youth from Charles Bovary, his entry with the college and its marriage missed with a widowed rich person. The account concentrates then on Emma. Raised in a convent, then living with the farm with his/her father, Emma lets itself allure by a young doctor, Charles Bovary, by his readings of romantic books, she dreams of a new life, in company of his/her new husband (the first woman of this one having died). Actually, its life is narrow and without relief with Yonville, borough with the borders of the Normandy and the Picardy; her husband, small doctor without ambition, disgusts it. All the ambition of Emma is probably partly caused by a masked ball having taken place at a Viscount, in Vaubyessard, and where Emma exposes herself for the first time to the rich person life. This evening will nourish its imagination of extravagant dreams throughout its life.
After vain adventures extraconjugales with a clerk of notary: Leon Dupuis then with a rich person owner of an agricultural domain Rodolphe Baker, Emma, then sifted debts and dissatisfied, commits suicide with the Arsenic. Her husband, by discovering the letters exchanged with his lovers, dies of sorrow, a wick of his hair to the hand.
Only and single child whom the couple had, Berthe, was sent, after the death of his parents, in his paternal grandmother. When the latter died, it from went away in a poor aunt who made it work in a cotton-spinning to earn her living.
Studies
It is interesting to note the Ironie of which made to proof the author towards his characters. It is one of the principal characteristics of the writing. It was often noticed that the first nobody was employed that with the whole beginning of the novel, as if the Narrateur were also a character of the history. To note that Gustave Flaubert written in a foreword that the project to write Mrs Bovary was to finish some with its romantic period. Consequently, one can not see in Mrs Bovary a critic of the romanticism, but rather excesses that can cause. Moreover, the characters are very well designed psychologically. Some critical judge that the suicide would be due to the failure of the marriage or the incomprehension of Charles Bovary. It is in any case sublime and pessimistic treaty of the human condition of the 19th century.
