Mpal

Mpal (or Me Stake ) is a locality and a rural community of the north of the Senegal, located between Saint-Louis and Louga.

History

As of 1884 the section of railroad Dakar - Mpal was completed.

Created in 1995, the CEM (College of average teaching) of Mpal bears the name of the marabout Seydil Hadj Rawane Ngom, a great local figure.

Administration

The rural community of Mpal belongs to the district of Rao, in the Département of Saint-Louis (Région of Saint-Louis).

Geography

The closest localities are Mbakhas, Birane Gaye, Mbirane Gaye, Begaye Samb, Tal Diop, Mbaye Mbaye and Ndabe Tal.

Although the railway line Dakar-Saint-Louis does not transport any more travellers, Mpal is nevertheless close to an road axis, the trunk road N2.
