Movement of the citizens for a democracy of development
The Mouvement of the citizens for a democracy of development (MDC) is a political party Senegal board, of which the leader is Serigne Ousseynou Fall, journalist and religious leader.
History
Serigne Ousseynou Fall was one of the candidates present at the first turn of the presidential election of February 27th, 2000. It collected 1,1% of the voices there.The MDC was officially created on March 8th 2000. It supported Abdoulaye Wade with the second turn of March 19th.
At the time of the legislative elections of 2001, the MDC collected 8.925 votes, that is to say 0,47%, and did not obtain any seat with the National Assembly.
Orientation
Going down from the family of Ibrahima Fall, Serigne Ousseynou Fall belongs to the Confrérie of Mourides, to which Wade is also very close.The declared objectives of the MDC are “to carry out by the democratic way a company sénégalaise free, interdependent, democratic and thrives, allowing each citizen and each Senegalese citizen to ensure the full blooming of its personality and the free expression of its physical and intellectual capacities”.
