Movement of Tebhaga

The movement of Tebhaga is a militant campaign started with the Bengal, in India, by Kisan Sabha (peasants of the Indian Communist party) in 1946. At the time, the peasants were to give half of their harvest to the owners of the ground. The movement of Tebhaga (which means " to divide in tiers") wanted to give only one third of harvest to the owners.

The peasants often became violent one and much of owners are enfuits leaving their ground to the hands of Kisan Sabha.

The government then made vote the law of Bargader , which provides that the owners cannot take more than one third of harvest. This law was not completely applied.
