Movaizhaleine

Movaizhaleine is formed in Gabon with beginning of the year 90 then that Lord Ekomy Ndong and Maàt Seigneur Lion are simple high-school pupils contaminated by the wave hip hop which breaks on Africa. They are pointed out by multiplying the passages and freestyles on the waves of the local radios and Panafrican (Africa n°1, Radio 2, Fréquence 3…) and by gaining the contests of rap and the sound systems in Libreville. In 1994, they create associative label ZORBAM PRODUXIONS to have means of autoproduire. The two artists dissociate themselves by using traditional melodies and instruments (toothing-stone, arc in mouth…). Since 1998, MH leaves its first individual Nyabinghi then the Mission album in Mbeng which is an immense success in Gabon. While taking as a starting point the culture hip hop and its Gabonese roots (Mvet and Bwiti), MH gives to the Gabonese hip hop a new vision. In 2001, the group produces a second album Mission Akomplie who leaves the framework of the rap and touches a larger audience. This album profits from collaborations of artists like Patrick Nguema Ndong (Africa n°1), Anthony Gussie, Annie Flore Batchiellilys (Kora 2002)… The song With the things of the country realized with Annie-Flora brings the national recognition to them and becomes traditional. She tells the drifts and the paradoxes of Gabon: “rich country, poor people”. A national round will buckle this year 2001 and will confirm the popular success of Movaizhaleine.

In 2003, in solo, Maàt leaves It was once… the Lord Lion and Lord Ekomy Ndong Afrikain. These two CD reach records of sale. 2003 see the first edition of the Show of the Country, first official concert of MH organized by Zorbam with the presence of the Senegalese group Daara J. This concert gathers more than 8000 people. It is the beginning of an international career and the many ones concerts out of Gabon: Benign (Hip Hop Kankpe), Senegal (Hip hop Awards, Movaizhaleine and Lord Ekomy nominated), Burkina Faso (Ouaga Hip Hop and Sore Hip Hop), Guinea (Rap Also), and in many concerts in France (Toulouse, Montpellier, Paris…) The group takes again the way of the studios to leave in 2005 the album One Holds the Sacrée toothing-stone (Volume 1) which is placed at once at the head of the Movaizhaleine sales is the oldest Gabonese group of rap and it more popular. This success rests on an original concept, the interbreeding of the traditional instruments with the universe hip hop.
