Moustapha Niasse
Moustapha Niasse (1939 -) is a politician Senegal board, old Prime Minister.
Biography
He was born on November 4th 1939 with Keur Madiabel, where he is initially provided education for. He continues his studies with the Faidherbe College of Saint-Louis, then with the Université of Dakar and finally with Paris. He is also graduate National school of administration of Senegal.After a career in the high public office, Moustapha Niasse is named Minister for Town planning, the Habitat and the Environment on March 15th 1979 and Foreign Minister on September 19th, 1979, then Prime Minister in April 1983.
In June 1993, he becomes Foreign Minister and of the Senegaleses of outside until July 1998 when he is named representing General secretary of the United Nations in the countries of the Big lakes.
In 2000, he is candidate of the Alliance of the forces of progress (AFP) to the presidential election. It arrives in third position at the first turn organized on February 27th, 2000 with 16,8 %. Following the victory of Abdoulaye Wade, it is appointed Prime Minister.
June 12th 2002, the General secretary of the United Nations names it special correspondent to help the Congolese parts to manage an inclusive agreement on the division of the capacity during the transition in Democratic republic from Congo.
December 19th 2006, the Coalition Alternative 2007, gathering 10 political parties of the opposition, designated Moustapha Niasse like candidate for the presidential election of 2007.
The February 25th 2007, at the time of the first turn of the presidential election (which sees the re-election of president Wade), it gains: 203129 votes, are 5,93 % of the votes cast, according to the final results announced by the Constitutional council the next on March 11th.
Moustapha Niasse also created several companies of which International Trading Oil and Commodities.
