Chick Mouskouri ( Greek Nάνα Μούσχουρη in ), of its true name Joanna Mouskouri , is a Greek Chanteuse . She continued an international career. She was born the Caned October 13rd 1934 with the (Crete).

She belongs to the 15 artists having sold the most discs with the world.

Biography

It began its formation at the fifteen years age, with the Hellenic Academy with Athens. She studied there during eight years the song, the Piano and harmonizes it.

Its career, begun in 1958, led it to record more: 1550 different songs, mainly in German, English, Spanish, French, Greek and Italian, but also in Hebrew, Japanese, Dutch, Portuguese and Walloon. In 1963, it is selected to represent Luxembourg with the Concours Eurovision of the Song with the song By request . Very traditional ballade, the piece will finish in the eighth place.

It approached various musical genres throughout its career, successively or simultaneously: Folklore, Jazz, pop, traditional (Made green, Mozart).

In 2005, Nana Mouskouri undertook an international round of good-byes, energy of Europe in Australia. Because of a long friendship with one of his very first fan, it gave at the time of this round of good-byes an acoustic exceptional concert in Perpignan accompanied by an orchestra of musicians gipsies directed by the leader Manuel Del Jeffarde. It is promoted with the rank of officer of the Légion of honor Friday July 14th 2006.

To devote this exceptional career, it received on December 7th “Grand Prix SACEM 2006 of the French song abroad”.

In 2007, it enters the list of the 120 people richest domiciled in Switzerland, whose criterion is a fortune moreover than 100 Me CHF.

November 25th, 2007 it gives one moving concert by good-bye to the Opera Garnier (Paris).

Anecdote

It has a vocal cord damaged since its birth, which gives him a serious voice when it speaks and crystalline when it sings… It has vocal cords dissymmetrical.
