Mourenx
Mourenx is a common French, located in the department of the Yrénées-Atlantiques and the area Aquitaine.
Geography
Mourenx is located in the middle of the Yrénées-Atlantiques at the south-west of France. This city is located at the center of the triangle formed by Pau, Orthez and Oloron-Holy-Marie. She is sprinkled by the Baïse of Lasseube, the Luzoué and the Geü, affluents of the Gave of Pau.
History
Mourenx was built on an already existing small village in 1958 after the discovery of a gas layer close to Lacq. Called new city, it accommodates the factory workers of Lacq thanks to modern buildings like the " Turn of the célibataires" , officially famous " K2" turn;. She however knows great installations like the CCL.
Administration
Mourenx-City-news was created in 1958 to place the personnel of the industrial Park of Lacq.The mayor elected in 1959 was Louis Blazy.
This city was in 1974 cofondatrice of the " District of the zone of Lacq" , with 16 other communes (president: Dr. Plantier, vice-president: Louis Blazy).

The town of Mourenx belongs to the Communauté of communes of Lacq which gathers 16 communes of the agglomeration mourenxoise.
