Mouloud Aounit

Mouloud Aounit is a Politician French laic, General secretary, then President of the Mouvement against racism and for the friendship between the people (MRAP) (1989 - our days), born the February 23rd 1953 with Timezrit in Kabylie (Algérie). Knight of the National order of the Merit and the Legion of Honor.

Biography

It arrives very young person to France at Aubervilliers, in Seine-Saint-Denis (93). It obtains in 1974 its Baccalaureat with the College Henri Wallon of Aubervilliers.

In 1976 it obtains a DEUG of Economic scenes at the University Paris XIII. The following year, it adheres for the first time to the Mouvement against racism and for the friendship between the people (MRAP). In 1979, at the time of its Control of Economic scenes, it writes a report on “the economic costs of immigration” and develops in parallel the local committee of Aubervilliers of MRAP. In 1980, it prepares a DEA in economy of human resources at the university Paris I and takes for subject of memory “the economy of the music”.

In 1981, it enters to the National office of MRAP then to the National secretariat the following year.

In 1983, Mouloud Aounit will make its first weapons of militancy while taking an active part in walk for the equality and against racism, known as “Marche of the beurs”, in whom he believes much and that he quotes like the beginning of his true political commitment. The same year, he becomes President of the Federation of the Seine Saint-Denis of MRAP.

In 1989, it succeeds Albert Levy at the position of secretary general of the Movement and becomes carries it word of the MRAP until our days.

In 1996, he becomes Managing director of the Association for the Social and Professional Integration of the young people and Adultes of Aubervilliers (AISPJA), which deals with the 16-25 years. He is still at present Directeur of this structure of insertion.

Mouloud Aounit was connected with the grids of the embassy of Iran to protest against the setting with dead of 13 Jews which were condemned, because Juifs, by the islamist mode of Iran|date= 10/22/07

He is also elected at the district council of Île-de-France, as a chief candidate in Seine-Saint-Denis of the list of gathering carried out by the French Communist party. Jean-Paul Huchon refuses the vice-presidency however to him, although he is proposed by his group, asserting that he had held in the past of the “contestable remarks”. In 2007, it decides to support the candidature of Marie-George Buffet for the presidential election.

In 2006, it considers continuations against a professor of philosophy, Robert Redeker, then death threat following the publication of a qualified article of “very violent platform devoted to Islam” by Le Monde. In reaction in this article, Robert Redeker had received death threats: several French intellectuals had then given to him their support in the name of the Freedom of expression. The MRAP and Mouloud Aounit, while condemning the intimidations of which it was victim, criticized the remarks of Robert Redeker explaining why they reinforced the amalgams of the type “Moslem-fanatic-violent one-terrorist” and to represent according to him the " candidate of the populations resulting from the immigration". It finally only collects a little more than 3% of the voices.

Estimating that it is a " rhetoric communautarist and ethnicist " on behalf of Mouloud Aounit, members of the board of directors of the MRAP then ask him in a petition to withdraw presidency of the MRAP. These members estimate that the message of Mrap is " regularly and more and more faded seriously by the declarations of a president become free electron " ;
one of them, Gerard Kerforn adds: " We fear that Mrap is not mislaid on a way which is not ours that of the defense of a religion ".
