Comment
Exploiting a history inspired of Bohemian the and especially of Traviata , the film takes an original position in its kind: generally, the musical films are either of the resumptions of existing spectacles ( Chicago ) or a complete original creation (films of Jacques Demy). But here, Baz Luhrman makes the choice be unaware of almost any clean creation ( Like What May and the credits of end) and recycle very a large range of existing pieces of the reinterpreted and réorchestrés Années 1940 with 2000 (cf below). The film thus cultivates a total shift, brews the inspirations, the times, the rates/rhythms or the styles to produce an exuberant treatment of its romantic topics and especially a homage supported to the spectacle.
