Moulay Ahmed Loukili

Moulay Ahmed Loukili (rear RTL ''' مولايأحمدالوكيلي ''' in Arab) was born with Fès in 1909.

Biography

Moulay Ahmed Loukili learns initially the music near his/her father, then as a non-registered student with the university mosque Quaraouiyine where it meets his first Masters, Mohamed Zahi Berrada who teaches the Oud to him, Mohamed Ayyoush and Abdelkader Kourrish which initiates it with the repertory of the San' has . But its main truths will be Al-Brihi and Al-Mtiri, which will pay homage to its talent besides. Until 1936, Loukili belongs to the orchestra Al-Brihi in Fès, then it sets out again for Tangier where it founds the association Ikhwan Al-fan (brothers of art) which organizes concerts and ensures a musical teaching.

Professor with the academy of Tétouan, Loukili benefits from it to look further into his knowledge of the repertory by learning the specific san' a' from the styles from Tétouan and Chefchaouen.

In 1952 he becomes leader of the radio, function which he provides until his death the end of the year 1988.

The style of Ahmed Loukili is characterized by the precision of the dawr (poetic Mètre) and a perfect control of the use of the taratin (empty syllables supplementing the dawr ), like by its constant worry to correct the errors of very current language and grammar in the musicians. By a constant research effort and of analysis, it also made work of restoration by exhuming san' has partially forgotten of which it reconstituted the meter and certain melody passages

Leaving pupils in the cities where it remained, Ahmed Loukili also made followers a little everywhere which hold it, rightly, for one of the largest Master of the arabo-Andalusian music.

The conservation of the documents concerning the safeguard of the visual recordings are regarded as artistic and cultural value priceless. The repeat broadcast of the recordings in black and white of the Years 1960 and 70 are regarded as national cultural heritage in Morocco.
