Motor home
A motor home is a motor vehicle making it possible to live inside thanks to a compact but complete installation. It is called sometimes also autocaravane or entertaining vehicle , whereas in Belgium, one prefers the term motorhome or mobilhome . In Quebec, the use of the terms roulotte , caravan or Winnebago can also indicate the motor home.
Installation
The majority of the motor homes have:- a permanent bed with the back of dimensions: 1m30x2m approximately, it can be placed longitudinally or transversely.
- toilets including/understanding a wash-hand basin, a shower, a WC chemical
- a refrigerator, with often a compartment freezer/preserving
- a block cooks with a sink, 3 fires gas and sometimes a furnace.
- a table doll's tea party with benches for the meals.
- Of the tanks of clean water and waste water of capacity of approximately 100 liters.
Typology
There exist six big families of motor homes:- arranged vans
- the nasturtiums
- the integral sections
- the
- removable cells
- the trucks
If the majority of these vehicles act with a simple driving license category B (tourism), there exist motor homes " weight-lourds" of more than 3.5T.
Arranged vans
The arranged vans preserve the body of origin of the vehicle. They are distinguished outside from the other vans only by additional openings (picture windows, ventilations, etc), but several models preserve several commoditiés clean at the motor homes such as the toilet, the TV, the refrigerator or even the shower.
They are more discrete and of a gauge often less important than the other motor homes, it often have permanent bed and the space of life is reduced more, it are generally appropriate for the couples without children, not wanting a vehicle too cumbersome.
They are more handy and more rapids on the road (especially VW to transport and the Condo Safari).
They also make it possible to move without encumbers inside the cities and to use parking spaces planned for the vehicles of walk.
The integral ones
Only the integral ones have a completely original silhouette which does not point out of anything that the carrier of origin. Indeed, they do not preserve any element of body of the vehicle of which they borrow the mechanical part. The driving cabin “is integrated” into the whole of the motor home. The motor home integral often have a second bed with the top of the driving cabin which using jacks is gone up against the roof when the motor home circulates. They are often vehicles more expensive than the sections or the nasturtiums.
Sections
The shaped motor home privileges aérodynamisme: the part with the top of the driving cabin called cap is not usable like zone of bed, but its profile allows a better penetration in the air. This type of motor home is also more complete and often expensive than the nasturtiums, one can live there comfortably to two and thus it is the ideal vehicle of the couples without children.
Nasturtiums
The nasturtium motor homes have a high zone of bed, above the driving cabin, which enables them to offer a more significant number of places/night for the same obstruction on the ground.
One calls nasturtium the part which is with the top of the driving cabin and which generally comprises a bed. On the other hand aérodynamisme of this type of vehicle is very bad. One can live there to four or six people what makes a family vehicle rather of it.
Removable cells
As its name indicates it, they are cells which one can pose and deposit with leisure on a carrier (generally a cross-country vehicle record player).
Trucks
Often intended for open at the time of their voyages, they are much more roomy and luxurious that the traditional motor homes. Some profit from a surprising luxury which would make jealous many owners of houses… Concerning the greatest models it is not always easy to travel in exiguous small villages…!!! They are rather intended for the great highway networks. To live has edge of those remain despite everything a immense pleasure and a great freedom.
Parking
A motor home being a vehicle like another, prohibition to be parked downtown of day that certain local by-laws take is abusive. On the other hand, it is often difficult to station on the carparks for light vehicles because the places are too small. Certain tourist places prohibit to station during the night of 22:00 to 8:00 of the morning, on the other hand when it is not prohibited it is often practical to station on the carpark of a curiosity which one wants to visit the shortly after the opening of ticketting. The practice of the motor home being expanding, more and more communes create carparks reserved for the motor homes with sometimes a terminal of service.
Limit service
It is an arranged place where the camp-site-drivers can drain their gray water (shower, crockery), their black water (WC), these drainings are always free. One can fill the tank with drinking water also there, sometimes to connect on the electric current, these services are sometimes free, but generally paying (to count approximately 2€ for 100 liters of water or 1 hour of electricity).
