Motor bike Guzzi V7
The V7 is a model of Motocyclette builds by Moto Guzzi.
In the beginning, V7 was imagined to equip the Italian police force, following a contest launched at the beginning of the Sixty. She was imagined by Giulio Cesare Carcano and was developed by Lino Tonti.
Its engine derives from that of the cross-country vehicle already used by the army and developed by Guzzi, the 3x3. It is a twin-cylinder out of V open to 90°, longitudinally assembled in the double cradle, of 700 cm ³. It develops about thirty horses.
Braking is ensured by two drums of 220 mm, double cam with before and simple cam with the back.
It is necessary to await the living room of Milan 1965 so that is presented the civil version. Compared to the models of police force, V7 civil gains ten horses and loses 20 kg.
In 1969, the V7 Special presents the first evolution of V7. The cubic capacity passes to 757 cm ³ by an increase of 3 mm of the Alésage, which induces a profit of 5 horses. Its esthetics is slightly modifiée. It is available only in white with red nets on the tank, the mudguard before and them masks latéraux. It is marketed until in 1971.
V7 Special is doubled of a V7 Ambassador , reserved for the American market . She adds a large handlebar, a different saddle and avoids-cylindes chrome.
In 1971 is born the V7 Sport . The engine was worked over again to gain in compactness. The dynamo is replaced by an alternator placed in end of Vilebrequin. For reasons of payment, boring is brought back to 72,5 mm, developing 52 horses with 6.300 tr/min. It is gavé by two carburettors Dell' Orto 30 mms in diameter. The Gear box gains an additional report/ratio.
The framework was improved to enclose with more close the engine. It is dismountable in its low part to be able to deposit the engine.
Braking was improved. The front drum from now on is ventilated.
The first 204 machines left covered a green dress and a red framework, which will be taken again later on the V11. The models of 1972 are green with a black edge and those the two years following are red, always with the black edge.
It would have left 2 843 V7 Sport. With its launching, it was sold 16.000 francs, that is to say 2 440 €.
The living room of the motor bike of November 2007 sees the rebirth of V7, under its version V7 Classic . Surfant on the néo-retro wave of the traditional modern motor bikes , Moto Guzzi proposes a variation given to the last style of V7 Special, of which it takes again the white dress and the red and black nets.
It is motorized by the twin-cylinder out of V with 90° of the 750 Breva, supplied with an electronic injection Weber Marelli.
The fork of 40 mms in diameter and the back shock absorbers are signed Marzocchi. The wheels are with rayons Braking is ensured by Brembo Série But, with a simple disc of 320 mm with before with a clamp four pistons and a simple disc of 260 mm to the back.

V7 Special is the mounting of the owner of bar Joe, in the series of Cartoon Joe Bar TEAM.
