Motonautism speed inshore

The motonautism speed inshore (inside the grounds) is a discipline of Motonautisme.

History

The motonautism speed inshore is a rather old discipline, which one can locate the " boom" before the Second world war. Today, there exist several categories which one can compare to the categories Automobile, such as F3, F2000 and F1, the latter being the formula queen of the motonautism. These categories are under the aegis of federations, like the car is for example with the TRUSTED. Most known are APBA, in North America, or the UIM (speedboat International union), on a world level.

Type of boat

Currently, a F1 catamaran, is a Bateau of High technology, as well by its design, as by its performances. Indeed, a Catamaran F1 consists of composite materials (glass fiber + resins polyester) and of exotic wood at the same time light, resistant and easy to work. The manufacturers of this type of boat for are known, Molgaard, Blaze, Moore, Burgess and DAC, several times World champion of the discipline.

A boat of this type weighs 500 kg and is propelled by an engine of 2500cm ² developing 400 cv with approximately 10000tr/m. They can reach the speed of 240 km/h. When one observes a F1 catamaran evolve/move at high speed, which strikes more, it is that it almost does not touch water! Indeed, to go more quickly, the pilots can incline the plate of the boat so that this one almost does not touch water. Only the engine and of course the propeller are in permanent contact with the water level.

There exist several motor mechanics, but most famous is undoubtedly Mercury, which raid all titles for a long time.

Championship of the world

The Championnat of the speedboat world of F1 UIM was created in 1981, and one can count on champions like Renato Molinari (3 times champion), Jonathan Jones (2 times champion), Scott Gillman (3 times champion) but especially Guido Cappellini, 9 times champion and always in activity in 2006!
