Motocrotte

The motocrotte , also called caninette is a small motorized machine intended to clean the canine dejections in the cities. It is controlled by a motocrottor . The motocrottes were installation for the first time by the Mairie of Paris, Jacques Chirac being mayor.

These motor bikes were Yamaha XT 600, strongly modified, with a clean water container, a container intended to collect the dejections and a vacuum cleaner located beside the nose gear wheel.

The idea of these machines was to constitute a fast deterrent force , making it possible to traverse long distances from pavements in a minimum of time to carry out a quite specific action there.

After several years of operation, the project was abandoned.

Alternative solutions

  • the canisette : U-shaped space, beside the pavements, reserved with the dogs.

  • penalization of the owners of dogs
  • distributers of plastic bags (but the bio-degradadibility of the plastic bag being bad, it is not a good solution).
