Otto Paul Hermann Diels (Hamburg January 23rd 1876 - Kiel March 7th 1954) was a German chemist .
Otto Diels studied the Chimie 1895 - 1899 with the Université of Berlin, or after various positions he became professor and chief of the department of chemistry in 1915. The following year, it took the post of professor of chemistry to the Université of Kiel, which it did not leave any more until its retirement in 1945.
Its more famous work was made in collaboration with Kurt Alder, on the reaction which bears their two names: the Reaction of Diels-Alder. They accepted the Nobel Prize of chemistry in 1950.
