Mostefa Ben Brahim

Mostefa Ben Brahim (1800 - 1867) is an Algerian combatant , member of the resistance of Abd El Kader, with the French conquest of the Algérie (1830 - 1857).

Born in 1800 in Boudjebha (meadows with Sfisef) in the area from Oran, it going down from the Al Mahaja tribes . The French administration installs it with Sidi Bel Abbès as a Caïd of the city, charged to make the search near the natives and farmers. Refusing to carry out the orders, it is raised of its functions, and exile with the Morocco with Fès. In 1832, Abd El Kader is committed directing the war against the French colonial conquest. It joined the rows of Algerian resistance then. Died in 1867, it is buried in the cemetery of the Me Cid.
