Mostefa Ben Boulaïd
Mostefa Ben Boulaïd (1917-1956) is a nationalist militant Algérie N, and one of the historical leaders of the Front of national release (FLN) during the Guerre of Algeria.
Biography
Ben Boulaïd was born the February 5th 1917 in Arris within a family easy Chaouia from the Aurès, mountainous region of the Algerian east. In 1939, it achieves the obligatory military service and was mobilized during the Second world war. During the program of Italy, in 1944, it is characterized by its courage, which is worth the military decoration and the Military Cross to him.
Demobilized with the rank of adjudant, it regains his birthplace It militates in the rows of the Parti the Algerian people (PPP). It was one of the founders of the revolutionary Comité of unit and action (CRUA). It governed the “meeting of the 22” of June 25th, 1954 which aimed at establishing a uniform vision around the question of the release of the armed struggle. It was responsible for the zone I for Aurès, place which will strongly mobilize the French Army and known to have paid a heavy tribute during the Guerre of Algeria. It was one of the members of the “Committee of the six” insurrectionary chiefs. It was with the direction of the operations of the release of the War of Algeria of November 1st, 1954 in the area of Aurès, one of the principal hearths of the rebellion. In 1955, it went in Libya to supply the militants out of weapons. It took part in the two battles of Ifri el blah and Ahmar Khaddou. It will be stopped on February 11th, 1955 in Tunisia and will be condemned to died by the court of Constantine and imprisoned to the central prison of Constantine. He will escape from it in November 1955 with several other prisoners of which Tahar Zbiri, one of the authors of the coup d'etat missed in 1967 against Houari Boumediene, and this thanks to the complicity of a prison warder, Djaffer Chérif, resulting from his native area. During the course of this escape one from his/her companions falls and is wounded and will be thereafter guillotine. It is joint agreement, with the drawing lot, that the order of escape had proceeded.
Mostefa Ben Boulaïd will be killed the March 22nd 1956 with Abdelhamid Lamrani, one of its collaborator close relations, in the maquis following the detonation of a trapped radio operator station parachuted by the French Army. Considered as national hero, in the Aurès and the remainder of the Algeria, its bust decorates the principal places of Batna and Arris.
