Moslem students of France

Étudiants Moslems of France is the main association of students Musulman S of France. Associations of Moslem students appeared publicly at the beginning of the Années 1990. EMF had been created in 1989 under the name " Islamic union of the students of France" before taking its current name in 1996.

If these associations support the religious activity, EMF and others are opened with all without condition of religion. At the time of social activities in particular, like the food collections for the students needy, each one can contribute. There exist other organizations, like Avenir with the Université of Paris XIII.

EMF and others have some elected officials in CROUS, in particular because credits in the university residences, even in certain university councils, in particular in the areas Nord-Pas-de-Calais, the Rhone-Alps, Franche-Comté, and more recently in Paris region. Today EMF account 14 sections which are distributed in the towns of Bordeaux, Besancon, Grenoble, Lille, Limoges, Lyon, Paris, Rouen, Caen, Amiens, Montpellier, Nancy, Toulouse and Rheims.

Elections CROUS

In 2002 the elections of the representatives of the students in CROUS had seen a clear opening of EMF, which since its creation had between zero and 5 elected officials.

In 2002, they asserted 6,4% of the voters (spending 1942 votes and 1,6% with: 7191 votes). The EMF thus obtained 11 elected officials out of 196 (against 3 in 2000) and FAGE offered their third place to them on on the list CNOUS. It obtained only two elected officials, but the debate was sharp in the FAGE and beyond; it caused the departure of the federation of the pupils - engineers (BNEI) towards PDE.

The presence of the EMF to elections 2004 of the CROUS was very médiatisée. Organizations like the PLAIN or FEDER made of their denunciation their main argument of countryside. Lists EMF obtained: 7512 votes (4,45%) and 2 elected officials in Grenoble and Creteil (against 11 in 2002), are less elected officials for a slightly higher number of voices because of the clear rise of the participation. In 2006, it obtained 5 seats.
