Kahn is of agreement on this principle and gives again health and youth with Tsung. It prolongs the invitation of Raiden, which on its side invites its combatants to join him, and all go in addition to Monde. The tournament is dangerous because Shao Kahn with the advantage of being in its element, and a victory of the Kingdom of the Evil would unbalance the situation and would make it possible the malefic forces to submerge the Earth.

Innovations in MKII
- As the technology and the experiment of Midway improved, the resolution of the characters as of the training courses was polished; Animations are more fluid, faster, more reactive. The colors and the details are richer. There still, it is the technique of the images digitalized which was used (by filming actors, to see lower casting), except for Kintaro, which was created to him by Stop-Motion , as it was the case for Goro in Mortal Kombat.
- It is the first play of arcade to use the system DCS of William instead of the Yamaha sound board , less powerful. It will be the same with the next plays for arcade for the series Mortal Kombat.
- the combatants have from now on several fatality , several special movements, and of fates of training course added in The Pit II , The Kombat Tomb and The Dead Pool .
- In addition to the fatality , the combatants have from now on two nonviolent alternatives: the babality (the loser is transformed into baby) and the friendship (the loser is ridiculed by various humorous actions). Their operation is the same one as for the fatality , namely a fast handling after the famous message Finish Him (/Her)! , except that it is this time Ci necessary to gain the first round only with kicks.
- the mini-play Test Your Might disappeared.
- the system of score was also removed, and only the consecutively gained combat account.
Easter egg S
- In the version arcade, the left 250e with two players resolves part of Pong.
- Sometimes, after having violently struck with an uppercut its adversary, the face of the sound originator daN Forden appears in the corner low-right of the screen by shouting “ Toasty! ” (“Roasted! ”). The cry “Toasty” comes from one of the fatality of Scorpion, that where it removes its mask partially, exposing a face malefic and burning, then spitting a blowpipe flame on the victim to carbonize it. The origin of “Toasty” is shown by chance in the play Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks for this same fatality .
- In Portal Training course , if the player supports very quickly on bas+start (haut+start on the versions consoles) while daN is with the screen, it then begins immediately a new combat against a secret character, Human Smoke, gray and black clone of Scorpion.
- However, there also was an alternative image of Toasty: By activating the menu of cheat in the screen of options, daN Forden is replaced by a sprite crûment drawn and inserted by one of the programmers of Probe Entertainment (the team responsible for the version Megadrive). This image, apparently drawn by the son of the programmer, was envisaged like alternative graphics to work without restriction, daN Forden working at Midway. However, in the final code, the sprite was not employed. In all the cases, the “Toasty! ” remains without change. Toasty is the most known Easter egg S of video game. Many plays included their own versions of Toasty, such StepMania, in which a character jumps outside and sings “Toasty! ” after a great sequence of perfect blows. The sample was also employed in Medieval Madness pinball.
- Another character secret, Jade, is a dangerous recoloration of Kitana and Mileena. To fight it, the player must beat his adversary right before the mysterious combat “? ” by using only the low kicks. In the training course Living room Forest , one sees sometimes Smoke and Jade which briefly appear behind a tree, to announce to the player that it is many hidden characters.
- If a player gains 50 combat of sharp (a meter of consecutive victories is located at the top of the bar of energy), the 51e combat will be made against the third secret character Noob Saibot, a dangerous ninja completely vêtu of black who draws his name from principal the designer John Tobias and to program ED Boon, name made up of the family names written with back.
- After having sent a victim in the acid of the training course Acid Pool , if the player maintains the joystick to the bottom, daN Forden will say something like " Owah".
- In the training course Kombat Tomb, if the player downwards maintains the joystick after having sent the victim on the spades of the ceiling, the latter " décollera" little by little of the latter.

To note
- After the weak sales of version SNES of the first Mortal Kombat compared with that of the version Megadrive, Nintendo did not censure violent blood and them fatality as it had done for the first opus. There however was a label of warning on the box of play. On the other hand, the Japanese version, it, was censured with a certain degree, with green blood for all the combatants, and of the fatality in black and white. In spite of this, version SNES was sold well better than any other version and was consequently regarded as being the best port of the version of arcade.
- In Japan, Mortal Kombat II left on Playstation. This version is extremely rare, and is negotiated on the sites of bidding in the neighborhoods of 100 dollars, that is to say a little less in euros.
- In an interview of the American magazine GamePro , John Tobias, Co-creator of Mortal Kombat explains why famous “the Toasty! ” was in the beginning “ You' Re Toast! ” (“You are roasted! ” (like a toast)), then evolved/moved later in “ Toasted! ”, and finally in “ Toasty! ”.
