Morrens
Morrens is a common Switzerland Canton of Vaud, located in the District of Echallens.
Between basin lemanic and Large-of-Vaud, between the Rhone and the Rhine, between two road axes (Lausanne-Yverdon and Lausanne-Thierrens), the village of Morrens remains thus, from its geographical location, to the variation of the great developments and offers to its population, with two steps of Lausanne, a quite country framework of life. Without forgetting its place of the Elm, its secular oaks and its sight on the adret lemanic. Its territory extends on 368 ha, including 55 of forests. The many installations carried out during these last years in the agricultural and forest zones offer to the inhabitants and to the visitors a network of ways for the walk.
The majority of the inhabitants carry on their community activity outside the locality, and more particularly in the area lausannoise. The commune accommodates also artisanal small companies and services, like some trade.
The local companies animate the village life. For the number of the annual demonstrations it is advisable to raise the evenings concerts and spectacles of " The Song of Morrens" , mixed choral society, the Carnival which acquired a reputation far with the round and the Festival of the Elm which proceeds on the place of the same name, one of the most beautiful sites of the canton. This one is very attended by the population of the area lausannoise like place of relaxation and leisures. It is also advisable to quote the Signal of Morrens, recognized panoramic site and extremely appreciated, from where one can admire the Alps, Léman and the Jura.
