Morny price
The Prix Morny is a horse-race of dish being held in August on the Hippodrome of Deauville.
It is a race of Groupe I reserved for the horses 2 years.
It is acted in fact of a sprint, since which it runs on 1.200 meters, in straight line. The edition 2007 is equipped with an allowance of 350.000€.
The Morny Price, before Price of Morny, is one of oldest the French races, since the first edition took place in 1865. It bears the name of the Duc of Morny, large instigator of the races with Deauville, and deceased in 1864.
The distance from origin is of 1.000 meters. It varies 1866 with 1886, passing to 1.200,1.300 then 1.400 meters. The current distance of 1.200 meters is in force since 1887.
Of 1871 with 1911, the Morny Price was renamed Prix Two Years. It also should be noted that, due to Second world war, the editions 1941, 1942 and 1944 were held on the hippodrome of Longchamp, whereas those of 1943 and 1945 took seat on the hippodrome of Houses-Laffitte.
