Moritani house
The Maison Moritani is one of the Major Houses of the Cycle of Dune, of Frank Herbert. The name of their planet-stronghold is Grumman .
The Moritani House of Grumman, allied of the Harkonnen, is directed by a Viscount, and is known for its conflict with the Maison Ecaz, following the assassination by an ambassador of Grumman of a diplomat of Ecaz, during a reception given by the count Hasimir Fenring and his Margot wife on Arrakis. A war between the two Houses was started, Moritani launched a raid against Ecaz, in violation of the Great Convention, which had as a consequence the sending by the emperor Padishah Shaddam IV of Sardaukars on Grumman. A cease-fire was signed, but the Moritani House violated it, attacked Ecaz and captured, then carried out the archduke Armand Ecaz, sovereign of the House of Ecaz, as well as the girl of this one.
In reprisals, the candidates under Fencing master of Ginaz pertaining to the Moritani House who did not denounce the acts dishonouring of Moritani were expelled of Ginaz, (in particular Trin Kronos), only Hiih Resser, companion of Duncan Idaho, remained (thereafter, it joined Grumman and was put at the service of the Moritani Viscount).
