Morgon

The Morgon is one of the ten vintages of the vineyard of the Beaujolais which are, of north in the south: Saint-Love, Juliénas, Chénas, Mill-with-Wind, Flowered, Chiroubles, Morgon, Régnié, Brouilly and Coast of Brouilly.

A beautiful dress of a deep crimson where scintillate of the glares of ruby. The flavors are to be sought side of the stone-fruits (apricot, fishing, cherry, plum). The well structured vintages will develop with the time of the scents of ripe fruits, cores and kirsch, sometimes even in hot year of cooked fruits. Of good guard, some evolve to wild notes of underwood. The morgon is constructed, powerful, rich, fleshy and points out sometimes the wines of Burgundy ( Morgon : fruit of a Beaujolais wine, the charm of Burgundy). It expresses its soil so well, and the complexity of its components, which one uses sometimes, to describe it, a term which is clean for him: one says of him that it morgonne, and, thus, one insists on the close link which attaches it to its grounds the famous rock rotted, its localization and the exposure of the various zones of the vintage.

The south-eastern orientation of the slopes of Morgon gets a good sunning. Altitude varies there from 250 m with 500 Mr. the stocks are planted on a basement resulting from the disintegration of the primary formations. These granitic sands are locally called rotted ground. They contain a variable proportion of clay.

Name is located at the north of the department of the Rhone, on a full directed slope is vis-a-vis the Saone. Commune: The commune of Villié-Morgon exclusively. There exist six climates: Coast of Py, Micouds, Large Cras, Charms, Corcelette and Douby.

Creation of name: February 8th, 1946
Encépagement: The Cépage is the black Gamay. The black Pinot is tolerated up to 15% of L `encépagement until harvest 2015.
Taille: Short size: out of goblet, range or cord, simple, double or charmet with 3 to 5 let us coursons to 1 or 2 eyes.
Surface in production: Name represents 1.140 ha and the production relates to 66.200 Hl.
Best performance with the hectare: 58 hl/ha.
